Anyone who saw us struggling up Ashby Lane in Childers yesterday with mannequin arms and torsos.. may have wondered what the long arm of the law was up to. We can assure you that these models were not in custody!
We were actually borrowing them from the Military & Memorabilia Museum, along with a number of other items for our display at the Childers Festival on Sunday.
This year the Queensland Police Service celebrates a sesquicentenary of policing. To promote this we will be showcasing a varied assortment of policing memorabilia over the last 150 years. A big thank you must go to Mr Allan Baker, Military & Memorabilia Museum and to the QPS Museum for assisting us with this display.
Today’s blog features Sgt Geoff Fay (Officer in Charge of Childers) with an 1864 replica uniform. Check back with us over the next couple of days for a sneak peek of what else we will have on show.
